Yellowstone’s Kelly Reilly looked very different when she starred in Prime Suspect 30 years ago.
Fiery, unpredictable and often violent Beth Dutton (played by Kelly Reilly) is a fan-favourite of Yellowstone viewers, who would do anything to help her dad John Dutton (Kevin Costner) protect the ranch.
Since 2018, the 46-year-old has been at the heart of the Paramount Network Western drama and is expected to go out with a bang in the final lot of episodes due to premiere later this year.
But long before Beth came into existence, Reilly had a number of other roles in shows and films, including Sherlock Holmes, A Haunting in Venice, Above Suspicion and True Detective.
It was in the first year of her career though when Reilly was just 17-years-old, that the Beth Dutton star landed a role in ITV’s hit drama Prime Suspect.
Starring opposite Helen Mirren as Detective Jane Tennison, Reilly played a youngster called Polly Henry way back in 1995.
She was the daughter of ruthless lawyer Maria Henry (Jill Baker) who was not only behind a lot of dodgy dealings but also a murderer who was trying to cover up her tracks.
Maria has previously tried to hide her illicit lifestyle from naive Polly but when her erratic behaviour comes out, her daughter wants to follow in her footsteps.
She doesn’t see how hollow Maria’s life has come to be but in a way, this brings the mother-and-daughter duo closer than they had been.
Prime Suspect continued to thrive until 2006 when it was cancelled, although Mirren had left the drama three years prior.
Reilly’s current starring role as Beth is reaching its conclusion with Yellowstone set to finish with the rest of season five.
No official release date has been announced just yet but it has been stated that part two will be out sometime in November 2024.
And already, Reilly has been busy working on new projects away from the Yellowstone ranch.
The Yellowstone actress is set to star in Paramount Network’s coming-of-age story Little Wing.
She portrays Maddie, the mother of a 13-year-old who develops a love for pigeon racing thanks to their neighbour Jaan (Brian Cox) to deal with her parents’ divorce.
The 60-minute film will debut on Wednesday, March 13.
Apart from this, Reilly is in the middle of Here and Last Meals which are in production and pre-production respectively.
Yellowstone is available to watch on Paramount Network and Prime Suspect on ITVX.
