Yellowstone’s Kelly Reilly addresses the spinoff rumors after the main show ends. Joined by a cast including Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley, and Cole Hauser, Reilly plays Beth Dutton in the popular Western series. Following reported conflicts between leading star Kevin Costner and creator Taylor Sheridan, Yellowstone season 5, part 2 will conclude the show, which is slated to premiere in November 2024.

Speaking with RadioTimes.com, Reilly commented on the chances for the continuation of the Yellowstone universe. Reilly stated that she “just care[s] about finishing” the main arc of the series and giving it everything that she has to the show. She noted that “there are discussions” about a Yellowstone spinoff but did not reveal further details as to what those projects would entail. Check out the full quote from Reilly below:

“I just care about finishing [the main show] with as much care and as much passion and as much love as I can muster to put into it. That’s what I care about. I’m sort of prepping for that now [and] that’s my tunnel vision thing that I care about most.”

“And what goes on beyond that? There are discussions, you know. Don’t believe everything you read. It’s just nonsense. But we’re gonna, you know, let’s wait and see. I don’t have an answer right now. But we’ll see.”

The Yellowstone Spinoff Rumors Explained
There have been reports of a sequel in development following the conclusion of Yellowstone.

One of the discussed Yellowstone spinoffs is 2024, led by Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey.

Acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, Yellowstone’s popularity throughout its run has been astounding. This viewer interest has led to multiple spinoffs, including 1883 and 1923, the latter of which has been renewed for season 2. In addition, a prequel show, 1944, and a present-day-set show, 2024, were ordered. Sheridan also announced the production of a series called 6666, which would be set at the Yellowstone ranch, but that series is currently on hold.

Even with this massive expansion of the Yellowstone-verse, there have been suggestions of even further Yellowstone spinoffs. One such suggestion has been a young John Dutton series, as Josh Lucas’ portrayal of the character is well-liked. Lucas stated he would be open to such a series, but there has been no confirmation.

One of the discussed Yellowstone spinoffs is 2024, led by Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey. The project was announced after it was confirmed that the hit Paramount show would end with season 5, part 2, following the behind-the-scenes controversy with Costner. It was also heavily rumored that, aside from Costner, most of the original Yellowstone cast members may crossover in this spinoff. However, details have been sparse, and it is speculated that even McConaughey’s involvement seems uncertain due to a lack of script.

Reilly’s most recent quote implies that the spinoff conversations extend beyond what has already been announced. The buildup and legacy of the Dutton family are vast, giving room for the nearly infinite expansion of the hit Western show. For now, the focus will be on Yellowstone season 5, part 2, to see how the show plans to conclude the Dutton family’s present story.
