Cry Macho’s cast and crew stayed in Albuquerque for almost two weeks before wrapping up the movie’s filming in the location on November 16, 2020. During the movie’s filming in Albuquerque, Clint Eastwood was spotted in the city’s famous Church Street Cafe (via Church Street Cafe on Facebook), which was reportedly one of the shooting locations. Socorro County, New Mexico
In Socorro County, New Mexico, Cry Macho’s filming took place from November 16 to November 30, 2020. According to reports (via abq journal), while some scenes from the movie were filmed near Socorro County’s New Mexico Tech campus, others were shot in the interiors and exteriors of a Lemitar. Polvadera, an unincorporated area in Socorro, also served as a filming location for Cry Macho and was reportedly transformed into the small town in the movie where Miko and Rafa meet Marta for the first time.
Belen, New Mexico
After Cry Macho’s filming in Socorro County was concluded on November 30, 2020, the movie’s cast and crew moved to Belen in December. As per reports (via Krqe news), part of the Main Street in Belen was shut down for a day for Cry Macho’s filming, and a local restaurant, Montaño’s Family Restaurant was also turned into a set. During their stay in New Mexico, Cry Macho’s production team reportedly (via New Mexico Economic Development Department) employed close to 250 crew members, 10 supporting cast members, and 600 background and extras from the U.S. state.
