Love Island legend Dani Dyer has slammed the decision to dump Samantha Kenny from the villa after Joey Essex’s ex Grace Jackson came in, leaving her single.
Liverpudlian Samantha, 26, found herself without a love interest after Joey’s ex-girlfriend Grace entered the villa and quickly rekindled their romance.
After a steamy overnight away trip, Joey made it clear to Samantha that his eyes were on Grace as he took her to the hideaway.
But in a dramatic turn of events, a shock recoupling saw the boys handed the power to pick the girl they want to couple up with – which resulted in Samantha being single and soon-after dumped.
Taking to Instagram to share her thoughts on the episode, series four winner Dani, 27, dubbed the decision to dump Samantha after what she had gone through ‘not fair’.
Sharing a picture of Samantha on her TV screen, Dani said: ‘No I’m sorry but this is not fair [crying face].’
As a new bombshell, Grace chose to couple up with Joey with Samantha the only girl left single at the end of the coupling.
Nicole Samuel received a text telling the villa Samantha had been dumped, prompting her and Harriett Blackmore to burst into tears.
Grace tried to apologise to Samantha as she packed her bags but Samantha told her she ‘didn’t want to hear it’.
Joey then entered the room as Samantha packed and tried to speak to her but she told him she didn’t want to hear what he had to say.
Joey said he had been with her ‘for two weeks’ but Samantha said anything he said to her would just be a ‘p**e of s***e’.
Viewers were left devastated at Samantha’s shocking exit from the villa, with some insisting she should return as a bombshell, while many praised her for how she handled Joey and Grace.
Taking to X/Twitter, fans wrote: ‘Petition for Samantha to be in the next bombshell group’… ‘Justice for Samantha’… ‘Bring Samantha back!!!’
‘Good on Samantha for not letting Joey talk to her! Let him feel the guilt.’
‘Samantha if you want to kill Joey and burn the place down it’s okay we’ll understand.’
‘Joey doing the absolute most… Samantha is real, I’m glad he did that’… ‘Sorry Samantha does not deserve to go home.’
Speaking after she left the villa, Samantha said: ‘I was true to myself and didn’t feel like it was a waste of my time because I followed what I felt was right for me.
‘When it comes to Joey, I think if I knew what I know now, I perhaps would have done things differently.’
Asked if she wished she had got to know any of the other boys better, Samantha said: ‘Definitely Ronnie.
‘Ronnie’s more my type than Joey was, but I feel like Ronnie didn’t pursue anything with me because he didn’t want to go up against Joey.’
Love Island continues on Wednesday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
