I’M Concerned The Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 Love Triangle Is Going To Get Messy

Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 has been hyping up a love triangle between Deckhand Joe Bradley, Stew Elena Dubaich, and Stew Bri Muller, but is it getting too messy, too fast? Throughout Below Deck history, there have been boatmances that flourished from working together aboard the superyacht, but the love triangles of the series have been a far smaller number. With just a few love triangles having been part of Below Deck in the past, the fact that Elelna, Joe, and Sabrina appear to be getting into one is historic for the franchise. As things heat up, I’m somewhat nervous.

With Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 just getting underway, the cast members are still getting to know each other. Having taken the first charter of the season together, Joe, Elena, and Br are all seemingly working well together. Even so, the fact that they all seem to be growing closer together in the next episode’s preview, which could bode poorly for the rest of the team. While the trio may not wind up disrupting the majority of the crew with their behavior, it could cause major friction for the interior team. I think the love triangle could be an issue.

Elena And Bri Bonded Early Aboard Mustique
The Stews Have Been Working Together

Although it appears the tides are going to be changing for the Stews, during the earliest moments of the season, the pair have been bonding aboard Mustique. Elena, who originally appeared for a quick stint on Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, has been taking the role of the more seasoned Stew while Bri, who is a newcomer to the series, has been learning from her superior. Elena shared that she’s interested in becoming a Chief Stew in the future, which makes training newbie Bri a great learning experience. The pair’s relationship has strengthened considerably over the first two guests’ charters.

While Bri and Elena’s relationship has been quick to grow, they had some struggles during the first few days of the charter season. Though Bri has experience working on superyachts, she revealed to the Below Deck Mediterranean audience that she’s never successfully completed a charter season on a superyacht. With this information, Elena knew it would be a struggle for her to stay afloat with the way Below Deck charters are run. Though she was anxious about keeping Bri steady, Elena did her best to teach Bri the ropes and continue to stay encouraging throughout the first difficult days aboard.

Joe Has Been Interested In Both Women
He’s Flirted With Both Of Them

Although he hasn’t been featured heavily on Below Deck Mediterranean yet, Joe is a Deckhand who’s found himself caught between his charter crew colleagues. Though he seems like a traditional, standup guy, Joe’s behavior has been polite, study, and a bit funny throughout his time on the superyacht. Though he’s been somewhat undersold throughout the beginning of the season, Joe’s time on Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 is likely about to double with the love triangle that has been teased for the rest of the season. It appears after some flirtation, Joe is romantically interested in both Elena and Bri.

In previews for the upcoming episodes of the season, Joe is shown flirting with both Bri and Elena, which will certainly make things uncomfortable for the colleagues and bunkmates. While Bri is a younger, more fun-loving and free-spirited person, Elena is more of an excited, mature person who may be looking for something more serious. Regardless of what they’re looking for in a relationship, the women have both been able to do something different for Joe. After flirting with both during a crew night out, it’s not clear how the love triangle will be dismantled, but the feelings are obvious.

Elena Has Been Talking About The Love Triangle In Interviews
She Seems To Be A Bit Salty

During interviews for the current season of Below Deck Mediterranean, Elena hasn’t been shying away from how she feels about Joe, Bri, or their situation now that the charter season is over and filming has ended. Elena, who appears to be a very logical, rational thinker, shared during an interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that she blames Joe for the love triangle. While she wasn’t allowed to share many details, Elena shared that she didn’t feel she was compatible with Joe, but brushed off the majority of the question without giving too much of an answer.

Though Elena appears to have moved on from the love triangle itself, she does seem to be a little bit salty while recounting details about it or answering questions. Despite the fact that Elena is reliving the charter season while watching episodes of Below Deck Mediterranean season 9, it is probably difficult for her to handle the more personal issues she finds herself having on camera. While Elena is a level-headed member of the Mustique crew, her attraction to Joe appears to make her a bit more impulsive than she’d been before. Sadly, Elena hasn’t mentioned her friendship with Bri.

Who Is To Blame For The Issues Between Elena, Joe, And Bri?
They’re All Blaming Each Other

Although Elena has chosen to blame Joe for the issues that the love triangle caused aboard Mustique, is he actually in the wrong? Though the love triangle has yet to play out on screen, Joe understanding that both Elena and Bri are attracted to him, and pursuing relationships with both is a mistake that he was in control of. While he may not have been clear on who he had feelings for, pursuing both women at the same time was a decision he chose to make, knowing full well that they had to work together closely and share a bunk.

While Bri hasn’t spoken up about the love triangle yet, Joe has been shown discussing it on the series, while Elena has chatted about it on Watch What Happens Live. With a stormy love triangle coming to Below Deck Mediterranean, I’m nervous about the pacing that the drama’s appearing this season. Traditionally, Below Deck shows move a bit more slowly. With the love triangle hitting within the first few episodes of the season, I’m worried that the drama will only intensify as it continues. With everyone on different sides of the triangle, Below Deck Mediterranean has spicy drama this season.
