Drug trafficking charges were dropped against Ariana Madix’s brother Jeremy Madix after an investigation, and fans reacted.

Back in July, the 32-year-old was arrested for allegedly having suitcases of marijuana at the airport on his way to Germany. At the time of the arrest, he was extradited back to Florida, where the alleged incident took place. He was reportedly charged with felony trafficking for marijuana with bail set at $80,000.

Authorities accused Jeremy of having two suitcases that contained 64 bags of weed and weighed 76 pounds.

Before the arrest, Jeremy shared that he and his sister weren’t in a good place. At one point, he was eviscerated by Vanderpump Rules fans for hugging Tom Sandoval – her ex who cheated on her. He said his issues with Tom were water under the bridge.

When reports of the arrest surfaced, some Ariana fans seemed happy to condemn Jeremy for the drug charges without knowing all of the evidence.

According to a recent Florida court filing shared by @the_smart_girl on Reddit, the drug charges have now been dropped.

The filing said he was charged with “trafficking cannabis >25 lbs/300 plants,” but after an “investigation,” it was found that the case “is not suitable for prosecution.”

“This action is taken to clear the records and to release [Jeremy]’s bond if any has been posted responsive to the above charge(s),” said the document signed by Assistant State Attorney Dean Andrew Reed. “If in custody, defendant should be released provided there are no other charges or holds against him.”

Fans then shared their reactions.

“Wow, Ariana’s brother Jeremy Madix was telling the truth,” said the account who shared the filing. “His criminal case is dismissed.”

“I’m glad we all waited for the facts before vilifying Jeremy,” wrote one user sarcastically.

“I hate to see anyone locked up for marijuana,” said a third.

Another fan challenged the theory that he snitched his way out of it.

“It can’t be from snitching [because] he would be offered a plea deal and not his charges all being dropped completely,” said the user.

One viewer suggested that fans assumed his guilt because he was nice to Tom.

“He’s not even a cast member,” said the fan. “If he hadn’t chose Sandoval’s side over miserable Ariana’s, people would be making excuses for him.”
