Does ‘Love Is Blind’ Contestant Trevor Deserve A Spot On ‘Perfect Match’?

Love is Blind, the dynamic reality series by Netflix, has been a sensation since making its debut several years ago. From explosive fights, to hilarious moments, to loveable couples, this show has provided reality TV lovers with everything the genre could hope to offer, and they’re not done yet.

Season 6 of the show was particularly chaotic, and one name has stuck in the minds of fans since it ended: Trevor Sova.

The buff bro was a fan favorite early on, as he had his heart broken by Chelsea. However, over time, Trevor’s name was dragged through the mud, culminating in him becoming one of the show’s biggest villains.

A shocking twist, but not as shocking as the fact that Netflix has opted to give Trevor another chance at finding the love of a lifetime, all while the world watches.

Trevor Sova Has Been Tabbed For The Next Season Of Perfect Match On Netflix, But Fans Are Split On His Inclusion

The second season of Netflix’s reality series, Perfect Match is upon us, and Trevor Sova has been announced as part of the cast.

Prior to an official announcement, Sova’s ex took to social media to announce that he was going on another Netflix reality series. Fans soon connected the dots, linking him to Perfect Match.

“It all started a few days ago when his ex-girlfriend Natalia Abraham Coelho went on Instagram and accused him of ghosting her before going on the show, and allegedly threatening her when she wanted to go public about their relationship.”

“She also said that he is about to star in another popular Netflix dating show, and its upcoming season is highly anticipated already,” Dexerto reported back in February.

Trevor’s casting, along with several others, was officially announced at the season 6 reunion of Love Is Blind. The other casting announcements included season 6 castmate, Jessica, along with notable Love is Blind names like Micah and Izzy.

Eventually, a trailer made its rounds online, and Trevor finally got a chance to make his presence felt in an all-new attempt at repairing his now-destroyed image.

“I’m here to redeem myself,” he said in the trailer.

Naturally, fans have chimed in about Trevor’s continued reality TV fame.

One fan believed that someone like Trevor was great for the show, from a production standpoint.

  • “Why would they, people watch these types of reality for the drama. And frankly he’s a perfect fit for bringing in drama to the show. If anything the production is rubbing their hands in glee over all this drama about him because they can turn it into hatewatchers,” they wrote.

Other fans would think that he might be edited out of the show following some disturbing allegations that have come to light.

He Had A Disastrous Run On Love Is Blind, And Has Subsequently Dealt With Terrible Allegations

It has been alleged that Trevor went into Love is Blind with a girlfriend, and that he was dating her the entire time! The story caused a frenzy on social media, and it made Trevor, a once sympathetic person on the show, look like a villain who’d been hiding in plain sight.

“I knew allegations about me had been made the night before we filmed the reunion but I for some reason didn’t read the actual texts and when I saw them pull up on a screen I felt like I was in a nightmare. Only that nightmare was about to be viewed by 50 million people and I had 3 seconds to think of a response,” Sova said in April, still maintaining that he was not in an active relationship while filming.

From there, he did take some accountability, though maybe not as much as some would like.

  • “That being said I admitted I was wrong, I admitted I wanted to talk to an actual therapist vs my first time discussing it being filmed in front of an audience. Since then, I have been seeing a therapist and slowly acknowledging what I need to do to better myself,” Sova continued.

Speaking of filming, Trevor’s time on the show boiled down to being rejected by Chelsea, all while playing the sweet, nice guy role. Many fans ate it up, and the edit he received was excellent.

However, following the girlfriend allegations, there was a huge shift in public perception.

As one Reddit user said, “Watching him putting on the “nice guy” act in the pods and pretending to be sweet to Chelsea makes me actually feel ill knowing that it’s all a crafted persona he wanted to portray to the audience. He really thought he was gonna leave the show, nobody would find out, and would go on to be this beloved influencer.”

Things went from bad to worse, however, when Trevor made his way onto the show’s reunion.

The Reunion Made Things Exponentially Worse, And He Made A Fool Of Himself On Stage

Trevor walked into an absolute all-out attack at the reunion when the allegations erupted on social media. To say that he dropped the ball when the cameras were rolling would be a hilarious understatement.

Sova was called out by the Lacheys, and was shown the receipts.

“I love you more than anything in this world. And I’m going to marry you,” one message said.

“I hope you know how much I love you. And had to pretend that this wasn’t real life to say anything I said,” another read.

Trevor immediately froze up, before managing to get some words out. Like his social media post that followed, he maintained his innocence while trying to take some accountability.

Eventually, the lights became to bright, and Trevor was booted from the stage after asking to depart.

“When they asked if he was trying to further his career and he goes, “what career?” and Mrs Lachey agrees, “I really have no idea”….LMAO. That was a chefs kiss man 🤌 so unintentionally hilarious and scathing. This dude is an absolute clown show,” a fan of the show wrote about his time at the reunion.

Despite this fallout, Netflix is giving him another shot at love and fame.

Love it or hate it, Trevor Sova will be on Perfect Match season two, and we have to imagine that other cast members will hesitate about linking up with him. The man can’t seem to get out of his own way, and a quick departure from the house could be the best thing for all involved.
