Juror No. 2 has an official release date. The upcoming Clint Eastwood movie, which has been said to be the final film by the iconic director and movie star, follows a juror who realizes he may actually be the culprit in the murder trial on which he is serving. The ensemble cast of the movie, which is being led by Nicholas Hoult, includes Toni Collette, Zoey Deutch, Kiefer Sutherland, Gabriel Basso, Leslie Bibb, Chris Messina, J.K. Simmons, Amy Aquino, Adrienne C. Moore, and Cedric Yarbrough.
Per Variety, Juror No. 2 has been set to make its world premiere on Sunday, October 27 as the closing night film at 2024’s AFI Film Festival, which will take place in Hollywood. This will be immediately followed by a limited theatrical release on the next weekend, which kicks off on Friday, November 1. Read a statement from AFI president and CEO Bob Gazzale below:
There is only one Clint Eastwood – and AFI is proud to present the world premiere of this next chapter in his historic canon. We are honored to bring the community together once again—artists and audiences—to celebrate an American icon.
What This Release Date Means For Juror No. 2
The Clint Eastwood Movie Is Set Up For Success
While it is unclear if the limited release has an option to expand to a wider release should the movie become a success in its early run, Juror No. 2 has been given a strong chance to connect with audiences thanks to its November 1 release date. The week after Halloween is a time when the reigning horror movies of October typically see a sharp drop, which sees Juror No. 2 perfectly poised to swoop in when Smile 2 is waning, though it will still have to compete with the second weekend of the upcoming Venom: The Last Dance.
However, the only other major new release on November 1 is Robert Zemeckis’ Here, a decade-spanning drama about the goings-on of a particular plot of land that is also set to premiere at the AFI Film Festival. The fact that there are no new major tentpoles that weekend could allow both new dramas a chance to shine and muscle their way onto the box office chart. Juror No. 2 is also being given a chance to capture attention toward the beginning of awards season before it is crowded by too many other titles.
Our Take On The Juror No. 2 Release Date
November Is Heating Up
Adding Juror No. 2 to the schedule is set to liven up the lead-up to the 2024 holiday movie season, which has otherwise looked relatively dry in the wake of many movies being delayed to 2025 amid the 2023 Hollywood strikes as writers and actors fought for fair pay. While there are still few major releases before the Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans holiday comedy Red One, the new Clint Eastwood title joining the roster has already given early November a more robust slate of intriguing titles.
