A lot of actors and directors announce their retirement by the time they reach their 90s. However, Clint Eastwood has different ideologies when it comes to retiring as he once revealed in an interview with People. When talking about what has changed in the industry when he first made his directorial debut back in 1971 in Play Misty for Me, he said,
“I never think about it. If I’m not the same guy, I don’t want to know anything about it. I might not like the new guy. I might think, ‘What am I doing with this idiot?’”
He further talked about giving certain roles to certain actors because he does not want to live with any regrets in the future. He said,
“I have nothing against other directors, but I might have a whole different take on things and I don’t want to be thinking, ‘Why did I give it to him?’ “

Despite still being hard at work and continuing to make movies at the age of 93, Clint Eastwood further talked about his ideologies differ between working as an actor and working as a director. While talking about working as an actor at the age of 91 in Cry Macho, he said
“What the hell am I still working for in my 90s? Are people going to start throwing tomatoes at you? I’ve gotten to the point where I wondered if that was enough, but not to the point where I decided it was. If you roll out a few turkeys, they’ll tell you soon enough.”
Clint Eastwood is all set to get back to work later this year as a director and producer as he announced in April that Juror #2 will be his final project.
Juror #2 was supposed to start filming this month but the project has been allegedly delayed indefinitely due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
