Scheana Shay had nothing but great things to say about Katie Maloney’s new boyfriend, Nick Martin.
Although Maloney, 37, has kept mum on her relationship with Martin, Shay revealed on her “Scheananigans” podcast Friday that she met the Sleeping With Sirens guitarist at a music festival over the weekend.
“We were all by the artist trailers in the hangout area, and he and Katie were walking up while I was standing at the taco truck in line getting food. I said hi to her,” the “Vanderpump Rules” star, 39, recalled. “She introduced me to her boyfriend.”
Despite seeing “little bits and pieces” of unfavorable reports about the rocker, Shay insisted that “he could not have been nicer.”
“We ended up at a different food truck in like a five to 10-minute conversation with some mutual friends,” she continued. “He’s from San Diego and we just talked about that.”
“Then I ran into them again later back at the hotel at the end of the night, and he was just such a sweet guy.”
Shay said she even “caught the end” of Martin’s set at the festival after leaving Fall Out Boy “a little early.”
“They were playing at the same time but I wanted to check out Sleeping with Sirens,” she explained. “I wanted to see what the band was all about and they were really good.”
Overall, the mother of one said it was a “fun” experience and she was thrilled to have met Maloney’s new man.
“I was glad I got to see her, meet him, see the band and overall it was a very fun weekend.”
Last week, Page Six exclusively reported that Maloney was dating the 41-year-old musician after meeting through mutual friends in the music industry.
An insider told us the two “bonded” over their respective endeavors in hospitality as Maloney is the co-owner of the Something About Her sandwich shop while Martin runs a coffee company named Charlie Royal.
“Katie loves the emo music scene and has been a fan and friend of Nick’s band for some time,” the insider shared. “While the pair started out as friends, things took a turn this past summer in August and their relationship developed really quickly.”
Although the couple were “trying to keep things under wraps” due to Martin’s ongoing divorce, Maloney recently told fans about their relationship.
“So, I have a boyfriend,” she gushed during the most recent episode of her “Disrespectfully” podcast.
“Yeah, I’m in love, everybody. Katie’s in love! Yeah, I’m really happy.”
Although Maloney didn’t reveal his identity at the time, she described Martin as the “most wonderful person [she’s] ever met.”
“He just makes me feel really special, and he’s really special, and yeah, I’m just really, really happy,” she raved.
Maloney, shockingly, shared the big news on ex-husband Tom Schwartz’s birthday. The exes announced their divorce in 2022 after over a decade together.
Martin, for his part, wed his estranged wife, Jenna, in 2016. It’s unclear exactly when they split but we’re told the rocker isn’t letting their “heavy divorce” stop him from “growing his relationship with Katie in the meantime.”
